Spencer Schwartz

-Cohort 7 Student Intern

My name is Spencer Schwartz, and I am a current Junior at the University of Miami (Go Canes!!) from Chicago, IL. I am studying Nursing and Public Health. I was a Chicago Diller Teen Fellow and Junior counselor, and I now serve as the Student Intern for the Diller Teen Fellows Miami Cohort. My other involvements include being a President’s 100 Student Ambassador, Logistics Chair for the Student Engagement Planning Agency of UM Student Government, a PEERS School of Nursing and Health Studies Ambassador, Campus Leader in CanePAC, and Manager of First Impressions at Hillel. When not busy with studying or invovlements, you can find me exploring Miami with friends and enjoying the beautiful weather!

whyDiller?

I started my journey with the Diller Teen Fellows my sophomore year of high school, about 5 years ago. As a fellow in Chicago, Diller helped me grow as a Jewish leader in my community. Learning the values of Israel, peoplehood, and partnership, among others, welcomed me into a world in which my desire to be a leader could intersect with my already strong Jewish values. I eagerly applied and was accepted as a Junior Counselor my senior year, where I met other JCs from around the world and we became a Diller family that would exist forever. And now, as a college student, I moved across the US to Miami, and serve as the Miami Student Intern. I hope to teach this new cohort how infinite a love of Diller can be, and how the many of lessons and qualities it has taught me continue to remain prominent in my life. I am forever grateful for the Diller program, and am so excited for all that this year has to come!
